Funded in 2009, this social browser initially appears to the same as any other, earning money from clicks on advertisements that appear above and beside search results. But, this is where the similarities end as Ecosia invests 80-100% of its profits on tree planting projects carefully chosen in 15 countries with biodiversity hotspots.
